Courtney Taylor is a clinical social worker specializing in play therapy for children ages 3-14. Courtney has 10 years of experience providing mental health services, including 5 years delivering therapy to children and families. She has completed extensive training and supervision in Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), a powerful, evidence-based approach that addresses almost every child’s needs, regardless of mental health diagnosis, background, or situation.

Children begin the CCPT process by entering the playroom, which is a therapy office with toys specifically chosen for play therapy. Once in the playroom, children are allowed to choose what to do for every session, from the first to the last. Unlike traditional therapy for children, talking is not required by the child. Throughout the session, Courtney is providing supportive reflections to help children develop insight into themselves and their struggles. CCPT works because it honors the child’s experience by giving them freedom within clear limits to work through what they need, at their own pace. Children also develop a healing relationship with Courtney through play and her reflections. Children naturally know what they need to work on, and the CCPT environment allows them to address it in their own way.

Families who work with Courtney can expect steady, meaningful growth rooted in trust, not pressure. Many parents are surprised to see how quickly their child begins to feel more confident, calm, and connected, even without having to be told what to say or do. Once children start the CCPT process, the changes they make and the progress they achieve will last a lifetime.
